Who We Are The Addiction Resource Council, Inc. (ARC) is a 36-year affiliate of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (NCADD), incorporated on November 23, 1971. We are committed to serving the residents of Waukesha County by providing alcohol and other drug prevention education, intervention, assessment, and referral services: as well as leadership; for collaboration among institutions, organizations and community-based agencies. What We Do
Assessment Services The Council provides alcohol and other drug abuse assessments for Waukesha County residents. The assessment consists of an interview with an alcohol and other drug abuse professional who will gather information to identify patterns of use that may indicate addiction or are recognized as behaviors that may put an individual at risk of developing serious problems. Based on the assessment findings, a referral may be made to education and/or treatment programming in the community. The Council provides the following types of assessments: · Intoxicated Driving · Court-ordered · Other Criminal Justice System referrals · Other Community Based referrals Services available in both English and Spanish.
Crisis Intervention Services The Council provides services to assess the immediacy of need, and assist individuals in crisis situations to obtain the appropriate level of care. Services include: · Operation of a 24-hour substance abuse telephone Helpline · Screening for involuntary commitments for alcohol/drug dependence
Community Awareness and Support The Council provides an array of services which empower and support individuals, families and communities to make informed choices regarding their use of alcohol or other drugs. These services heighten awareness and improve understanding of alcohol and other drug use within our community. We offer the following prevention services: · Community Education and Speakers · Literature, Videos and Other Resources · Support Groups · Problem identification and referral · Display Booths · Promotion of healthy activities
