Assessing Substance Abuse

The best way to get help that is designed to meet your specific needs is through the assessment process.

An assessment is a process consisting of a confidential, one-on-one interview with an alcohol/drug abuse professional to gather and interpret information necessary to determine the pattern of your use of alcohol and/or other drugs, and its effect on your life. The purpose of the interview is to recognize those patterns of use that may indicate addiction or are recognized as behaviors that may make you at risk of developing serious problems. The end result of the assessment is a referral to education and/or treatment that is designed to match your needs with appropriate community resources to assist you in preventing future alcohol or drug-related problems. The initial assessment usually takes about one hour.

An assessment can also assist individuals who are concerned about someone else’s use of alcohol and/or other drugs and how to best get help for that person.

To schedule an appointment or to speak personally with one of our alcohol and other drug abuse specialists please call 262-524-7921.
